From there, select ‘Advanced Display Settings’ and then click on the option that says ‘Display Adapter Properties for Display 1’. From there, you need to select ‘Color Management’ and then go to the ‘Advanced’ option.
After that, a new tab will open, and you need to locate the button that says ‘Calibrate Display’, click on that and adjust the brightness of your screen according to your liking. These method helps you adjust the brightness of your laptop screen more than the maximum limit of the slider and works on every laptop, no matter is it expensive gaming laptop or just average laptop for daily use.
How To Adjust The Laptop Screen Brightness
The dull screen of a laptop is enough to drive any person crazy, especially if they have to use the laptop for hours straight. However, there are some ways that you can brighten the screen of your laptop more than the maximum limit. I am sharing all the methods below.
Adjusting Through Keyboard
The first method of adjusting the laptop screen brightness is through the keyboard of the laptop. Every model of the laptop comes with shortcut keys added to the laptop that helps you adjust the brightness of the screen.
Most of the time, these two keys are somewhere between F1 to F12. The simple way to identify the two keys is through the sun-shaped icon.
The key that decreases the brightness has a minus sign (-) right next to the sun-shaped icon. Similarly, the key that is for increasing the brightness of the screen has a plus shape sign (+) right next to it.
You can press the keys at the same time with the Fn key on your laptop to adjust and alter the brightness of your laptop screen. This method is by far the simplest method of adjusting the brightness of a laptop screen and taking it to the maximum.
Adjusting Through Notification Panel
The second method of adjusting the brightness of a laptop screen is through the notification panel, which is also known as the action center. You can open the notification panel on your laptop by clicking on the small message sign present at the lower right corner of your laptop screen. Another way of opening the notification panel is through pressing the Window key and the A key simultaneously.
After you have opened the notification panel, you will see a number of shortcuts present there, and under all of the shortcuts will be the brightness bar. You can move the bar to the left to decrease the screen brightness and move it to the right to increase the laptop screen’s brightness.
Adjusting Through Mobility Center
The third method of adjusting the brightness of a laptop screen and making it brighter is through the Windows mobility center. To open the mobility center on your laptop, you need to press the Windows key and the X key at the same time.
A pop-up bar will open on the left side of your screen; from there, select the ‘Mobility Center’ option.
A window will open on the screen of your laptop, and you will see a variety of options there. From there, you need to locate the brightness option, and under that option will be a knob that will let you adjust the brightness of your laptop screen.
You can drag the knob to the extreme left to reduce the screen brightness. Similarly, you can drag it to the right to brighten the screen of your laptop.

For Windows 10
If your laptop has Windows 10, then there are a few steps that you need to do to adjust the brightness of your laptop screen. Turn on your laptop, and go to ‘Main Settings’, and select ‘Display’.
From there, you need to locate the ‘Display’ button and then find the ‘Brightness and Color’ option. Under that option, you will see a brightness slider that will allow you to adjust the brightness of your laptop screen.
For Windows 7
If you have Windows 7 on your laptop, then the process is slightly different for you. First, you need to go to the ‘Control Panel’ on your laptop. From there, you need to find the option that says ‘Hardware and Sound’. Once you have opened that, then go to ‘Power Option’. From there, you can adjust and alter the brightness of your laptop screen via the controller.
