Generally, Samsung begins the new year with the launch of it’s latest TV’s Lineup.
This year is going to be somewhat different.
A new display technology plus other smartphones will be demonstrated by the company.
Before Consumer Electronics Show(11 to 14 Jan, 2021), Samsung announced an event.
The event called “First Look 2021” is scheduled on 6 Jan, 2021.
The company will unveil new display technologies along with new products showing its vision for “the future of the display“.
The event will be broadcasted on Samsung’s Website.
What To Expect Now?
Information is surprisingly limited.
But the promotional picture makes clear that Samsung is thinking about traditional TVs as well as other display tech.
There is an overview of devices in the invitation poster shared by the company.
There is also a possibility of new tablets and laptop devices being revealed at the launch, possibly showcasing the new display technology.
Although this has not yet been confirmed by the company,
It is speculated that Samsung is likely to unveil its latest Micro LED TVs, Mini-LED TVs, and new versions of its 4K and 8K QLED TVs.
With the OLED screen, Samsung’s new TVs can offer 4K resolution.
The South Korean tech giant recently unveiled its 110-inch Micro-LED TV.
The Micro-LED TV features 4K resolution, zero bezels on all four sides, 5.1-channel speakers,
and is fuelled by the Tizen operating system of the company itself.
Micro-LED is a comparatively new technology.
It’s like OLED, but one with better brightness levels, better contrast, and high reliability.
It’s not exactly cheap, so we can assume that the new TVs that are coming will be costly.
The launch of TVs (and perhaps other products) using “Quantum Mini-LED” displays is also planned.
You can see contrast ratios and black levels similar to OLED without drawbacks such as low brightness or screen burn-in.
These technologies are most likely to first find their way into TVs,
but Samsung might use Mini-LED tablets and laptops to demonstrate the First Look event.
You’ll probably have to wait longer for some specific news on the phone.
At a 14 January event, Samsung is supposed to debut the Galaxy S21 Series (S21, S21 Plus & S21 Ultra),
and probably more foldable phones.
Here is a good chance for you to speculate about the tech advancements of future smartphones and tablets.
