To capture a screenshot you can either use physical buttons or a palm swipe gesture. Here is the list of things that you need to do in order to capture screenshots using both options;
Taking a Screenshot on Samsung Galaxy
Try holding down the power button (left) and volume up button (right) at the same time for 0.5 seconds. Or simply, try swiping your palm across the screen right-to-left starting from the top edge working downwards towards the bottom edge.
You’ll see an animation appearing near the bottom-right corner once done successfully. If no response again, check if both buttons are pressed too quickly or not!
Besides the method explained above, there’s another way by which you can capture screenshots on Galaxy S20 or S20+. It’s by using a palm swipe gesture. Here are the steps;
- Go to the Settings app. Open Motion and gestures tab.
- Under Motion, enable Palm swipe to capture option (turns green). This will allow you to take screenshots by swiping right-to-left starting from top edge working downwards towards the bottom edge of your screen using your palm without pressing any button at all!
Once enabled, try swiping across the screen starting from top edge to bottom edge with your palm left-to-right. A Nice animation appears near the bottom-right corner proving that it works! If not, check if it’s enabled first before trying again!
How about taking long screenshots? Yes, the one that contains the whole web pages or long apps? So let’s do that:
- Open the page you wish to record
- Select the Options menu. Scroll down to the bottom of your screen, where you’ll see a drop-down menu with more options. It’s at the top of this page. Select it now by tapping and holding on it (that looks like an ellipsis). It’s located in the upper right corner of your display.
- To capture scrolling, tap the Scroll Capture option (looks like a camera). Swipe left-to-right from the top edge working downwards towards the bottom edge to take screenshots, as described above throughout the screenshot-taking procedure, and after it! You’ll see a fantastic animation appear near the bottom right when you’re finished successfully! Take screenshots of all pages you want to include in a single long screenshot in this manner.
You can also use Bixby
What is Bixby? Bixby is a smart virtual assistant that comes built-in with Galaxy S20 and S20+. It’s an intelligent interface that interacts naturally with the user, allowing them to interact with devices through voice commands.
To use Bixby to take screenshots, simply press the button located on the left-hand side of your phone under your volume rocker. You can also say ‘Hi Bixby’ to activate it without pressing any physical buttons if you enabled Voice to wake up! Next, do this;
Say ‘take screenshot’. That’s all! If not, check if it’s enabled first before trying again. Then try saying ‘long screenshot’.
You can also say, “Take a Screenshot and share it on Twitter.” Bixby can even perform all of the functions that Google Assistant does!
About Samsung Galaxy S20 and S20+
Samsung Galaxy S20 and S20+ are Android smartphones manufactured and marketed by Samsung Electronics. They were announced on 2020 as the successors of the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+.
The devices went on sale worldwide on March 8, 2019. They retain a similar design, but now with much smaller bezels surrounding the displays; they feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner embedded beneath the display glass, unlike Samsung’s past phones like A20 which had optical in-display fingerprint sensors, as well as reverse wireless charging like their predecessors.
The standard S20 has a quad rear camera setup (featuring wide-angle plus ultra-wide-angle lenses), while the S20+ includes a fourth telephoto lens for zooming and bokeh effects.
These are the first phones by Samsung to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 system-on-chip.
